Students will travel to Washington, D.C. and perform at both the Mall near the Lincoln Memorial and at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.  Students will also be evaluated by internationally recognized clinicians at Kennedy Center and will also have the opportunity to work in clinic sessions with these evaluators prior to their performance.  Students will also have time to visit the many historically significant landmarks in the Washington, D.C. area and visit the Smithsonian Institute, as well as possibly attend a performance by the National Symphony Orchestra.

That the Booker High School Chamber Winds (VPA Band) field trip to Washington, D.C. on April 24, 2009 through April 28, 2009, be approved.
